in chased gilt bronze with brown patina, the movement supported by an elephant with its trunk raised, surmounted by a love figure holding a bow, the enameled dial signed Renard à Rheims, the jagged Rocaille-style terrace decorated with flowers.
Louis XV period.
Reference: an identical clock with a dial signed by the same watchmaker, sale of the Countess B.G. de Maigret collection, Maître Delaporte, Paris, March 10, 1980, lot 44.
